Pros

- You get the best of both worlds - you get the hands-on experience of working at a boutique consulting firm, but also work with marquee customers including the largest private equity firms, unicorn Fintechs, and large, Fortune 500 brands. - Working at a small company you get direct access to leadership and a collegiate working environment where everyone pitches in to help. - The company is accommodating and receptive to the needs of staff. This includes WFH days 2-3 days a week, team bonding events, and a balanced working schedule. - The company is merit-based. You are able to earn and progress in direct correlation to your contribution to the company. This isn't a place where the longest-tenured get rewards by default. - There is a variety of work. You get to see many different projects and get hands-on experience helping to solve complex problems facing major companies.

Cons

- A smaller team means that at times there are shifts in the work that happen sometimes suddenly. Management does a good job messaging these changes, but its a reality of the work.

Pros

The work at Liminal is hard in a good way. You get real ownership very quickly, and there's no hiding behind layers or process. The expectation is that you show up with a good attitude, hit the ground running, and carry your own weight. At times, it can feel like a lot (it is), but it's also what makes it very rewarding. When something ships, it's yours. You can point at it and know exactly how it was received by our clients. It's a group of genuinely good people. Usually, a high bar comes with egos and somehow that's not the case here. People genuinely want the work to be great and will jump in to help you get it there. The expectations for producing good work are incredibly high, and it's changed my outlook on what excellence looks like. I'm not sure I would have gotten that same level of experience elsewhere. If you're someone who takes pride in doing things right, it's energizing and developmental. If you're looking to coast, you'll feel it and others will take notice quickly.

Cons

You need to be really self-directed to do well here. There are some playbooks in place, but you have to be able to see what needs doing and scope it yourself, without having someone explain it. It's entrepreneurial, and if you do your best work with clear lanes and someone working alongside you on what's next, the ambiguity is going to wear on you. Some weeks are just intense. The pace plus the quality bar means it's not a coasting kind of place.
