Pros

A small but talented team of illustrators, motion designers, producers and directors who all share the same passion for creating the best possible work. A team who love to collaborate and thrive off the new challenges each project throws their way. Linetest has and continues to recognize individuals strengths and has given me the space and opportunity to grow both as an artist and as a leader to help further pursue my long term career goals. The clean open plan studio environment is a joy to work in, not to mention Zuli the studio dog who welcomes you every day! A friendly family feel studio culture where Friday beers and ping-pong tournaments are a regular occurrence.

Cons

Current lack of employment benefits.

Pros

Nice and convenient location, lots of restaurants nearby, lots of food choices. Very talented and approachable people, seems easy to fit in.

Cons

They don't encourage exploration as much as they say up front. There is practically no room for improvement, personal and/or professional growth and quite frankly no time. Overtime is not enforced but expected and almost obligatory, "everyone is doing it, so you should too." And obviously, overtime is unpaid and you're made uncomfortable asking about it. Hours are long and there is very little concern for your obligations outside of Linetest. Very friendly facade, but it stops there. There is no discussion of how to get better. If you're underperforming in their eyes in any way, there is no conversation. You just get replaced. Fairly undeveloped file management system. Every artist does things with little to no concern if they have to pass their part on to someone else. Naming layers? Oh pleaseeee...

Thank you for your review. Having this format is a great tool for our growth as a company. We're sorry to hear that your experience didn't match your expectations. We don't feel your assessment of us is an accurate description of how we run our studio, but with the advantage of hindsight we do feel that situations could have been handled differently with some who have worked with us and subsequently moved on. We would like to express our apology for any bad experiences that you were associated with at that time, and we continue to take steps to advance our organizational culture and leadership, and prioritize our employees and work. Our focus is always on creating the best work, in a friendly, close and collaborative work environment. This environment may not fit every individual, and it can be experienced differently based on the skill level, expectations, and prior work experience of each employee. We have a lot of happy people who are working here currently, and also have a lot of happy people who have worked here in the past. We're a very open workplace willing to discuss issues that may come up, and we feel if these were brought to us in an honest and timely manner we could have found some solutions. We always give opportunities to try and meet the needs of everyone involved before ending the working relationship. We will take this review very seriously and will use this to make our studio an even better place to work at. We thank you for your opinion and honesty. If you have more concerns, it would be great to continue the discussion or grab lunch to see how we can find some solutions to these issues together. :)
