I invested significant time to demonstrate my value. Before our second meeting, I developed and shared a comprehensive 6-month strategic roadmap to address the company's operational challenges. Despite receiving very little feedback on that plan, I remained committed to the process and drove 5 hours each way, to meet the owner in person for a lunch interview. During our meeting, the owner promised a follow-up within two days. He later emailed stating he needed an additional 1–2 days to catch up after being sick. It has now been two weeks, and I have been completely ghosted.
