Backed by a large company. So there was a real HR department, marketing team and such. Had great benefits as well and strong contracts for employees.

Poorly managed, lost crucial contracts and ultimately went out of business...twice! Inventory was all over the place with no real solution. Money was mismanaged!

sales training, good local management, most of staff was decent. hard work was sometimes rewarded and the local level. interaction with children and families was pleasant. associates were encouraged to be themselves and cheerful...it was simply wonderful "way back when".

poor corporate management in HQ before company switched ownership. employees fought over sales despite there being no commission because of faults in financial plans affecting stores and undue blame on associates. pay was poor. corp offices were uncommunicative with customers and stores especially with regards to online orders.
