I wish I had more positive things to say about my time at Thrivehive, but alas the majority are negative. For starters, the health insurance is absolutely terrible. The most bare bones plan is EXTREMELY expensive, just for medical, with no drug coverage, a limited network, and a very high deductible. Every person on my team was wildly underpaid for Boston averages, and raises are minimal at best, nonexistent at worse. The company will do anything to cut costs, such as eliminating the holiday party, no bonuses, and 0 employee recognition of any sort.
The executives at the company, especially at the C level, are completely unfeeling and emotionally devoid, and take no time to get to know their teams at all. The turnover rate is the highest I have ever seen, and upper management constantly makes poor decisions that results in amazing, high quality employees leaving or being let go.
Perhaps the worst of all, however, is the nepotism. I would wager to say that a MINIMUM of a quarter of every team was hired because of who they knew rather than having a single qualification. Sons and nephews of VPs and C-level positions are given jobs with 0 credentials, but those without any “special relations” are treated terribly. I’ve worked at several large companies and I have never seen anything like it. Nepotism truly rules Thrivehive.
