Pros

The Loco2 engineering team is remote first and built on trust. Work from where you are most productive. Work the hours that suit you and enjoy true flexibility. The engineering team really care about code quality. You are given the time to do your job properly. We stay agile, so we release early and often. No long running feature branches. Proper continuous integration and deployment - push to Master goes live immediately. Great autonomy to implement the solution you think will work best, but lots of support if you ask for it. Technical decisions are made in the open via Basecamp threads to give everyone a chance to voice their thoughts/opinions. Lot's of difficult technical problems to get stuck into.

Cons

Being distributed means the tech team doesn't get together that often. It's a small company, so no formal 'career path' if you're interested in that kind of thing.

Pros

- Very international team: people from France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Greece, Turkey, USA, etc - Company is growing really quickly - No one looks over your shoulder about working from home or remotely and the company is very merit-based. Everything is about getting stuff done efficiently - Nice, new office in Shoreditch / Old Street - Some cool benefits: Extra time off if personal travel is by train; Use of all vacation time is strongly encouraged

Cons

- Sometimes all the communication tools we use can be confusing: Slack, Basecamp, Trello, Github, Email. It's not a huge problem but getting used to it can take some time - Office vibe can be dead: A lot of people work remotely so it's often not very full

Pros

- Passionate leadership, who really believe in what they're doing - Everyone, customers and employees alike, are treated fairly and honestly - Excitement around product and company growth - Flexible schedules; great work/life balance

Cons

- Although they have remote employees, it's not a remote-first company. Those who don't visit the London office miss out not just on social events and "water-cooler" talk but also advancement opportunities. If you're not able to visit London regularly, you may feel stuck and isolated. - No HR department
