Pros
- There are cool people who work here!
Cons
- There is absolutely no work-life balance. This organization, like many other nonprofits, preys on your empathy and compassion in order to get you to work longer hours for no additional compensation/benefits. - Artistic Director undermined and undervalued staff, especially POC. If they didn't like you, they made it clear via passive-aggressive emails and Slack messages. - Despite pushing a public image of inclusivity and diversity, the Artistic Director would consistently opt out of making inclusive options available OR completely ignore them altogether. It was not a priority, just a talking point. - When the org announced they were leaving the building to transition to an "itinerant" model in Feb. 2022, it became clear that there would be "staffing changes". However, the executive team was not clear on what exactly the plan was moving forward, how/if severance packages would be provided, or what employment opportunities looked like.
