Pros

It is quite a niche business

Cons

My experience at Lowe Rental was the most disappointing of my professional career. What I encountered was a management team that, in my opinion, appeared far more interested in status, image, and internal politics than in the people responsible for delivering results. Owning family often felt detached from reality, disconnected from employees, and resistant to feedback that challenged existing views. Decision-making seemed driven by personal loyalties rather than merit, creating a culture where competence was frequently overshadowed by favoritism. Across several levels of management, I observed a lack of accountability, poor communication, and an unwillingness to accept responsibility when things went wrong. The company's leadership frequently spoke about values, culture, and people, but my experience was that those messages rarely translated into action. There was a significant gap between what was said and what employees actually experienced. HR was extremely disappointing. Rather than acting as a professional and independent function, it often appeared ineffective, reactive, and unable to address serious concerns with the level of competence employees should reasonably expect. The overall environment felt political, cliquish, and at times intimidating. Employees who challenged decisions or raised concerns were often left feeling unheard, while those who aligned themselves with the right individuals appeared to receive preferential treatment. In the end, I left with the impression that appearances mattered more than leadership, loyalty mattered more than performance, and self-preservation mattered more than accountability. If your ambition is to work in a company where politics, favoritism, and self-interest are rewarded, you may do well. If you're looking for genuine leadership, integrity, and a people-first culture, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

Pros

Good work hours, location and travel

Very clickish, not a family enviornment, they are a global company that works like a mom/pop start-up.
