Pros

Great people making well-loved publications. Involvement at all levels, and opportunity to wear many hats. Laid back office. I met lots of great people working there. Creative environment.

Cons

Fast paced and deadline driven. Can be stressful at times. It's a pretty small company with narrow margins so their not spending much on extras.

Pros

Good location. CEO is nice.

Cons

This is the worst place I have ever worked. The Publisher, Jason, is verbally and emotionally abusive. He will send you horrible emails that make you feel bad about yourself and your position at the company. Amara, the CEO is sweet and listens to your advice and wants to take it but unfortunately doesn't have any say in the final decision because her husband, Jason won't allow her to. Jason pushes employees out. It's his way or the highway. Their company isn't doing well financially and he looks to blame everyone but himself. He has no business sense what-so-ever. He is unable to effectively communicate what he wants and will just stop interacting with you if he doesn't like you. It's a hostile work environment and even after standing up for yourself and having multiple conversations with both Amara and Jason about how he makes you feel, nothing ever changes and he continues to be abusive. No health insurance. No retirement plan.
