Pros

The company certainly sticks together until the end. If there was ever a job that was too much for a one or two-man crew to handle, other employees, sometimes even the boss himself, will be there in the mud and crap to help you finish the job. They are always a phone call away to answer questions if needed, and never be afraid to ask. They are understanding (for the most part) when it comes to the unexpected, whether it be illness, injury, family emergency, etc., and will give you the necessary time--unless things have changed. Otherwise, time-off is as expected. Daily morning pep-talk and weekly meetings/trainings Going up the ladder only depends on how hard you work, and your willingness to do what needs to be done outside of work, like the journeyman exam. If you put in the work, you will strive because they will back you 100% if they know you will be accountable, responsible and reliable.

Cons

A lot of kissing up to the boss and coworkers badmouthing each other behind each other's back. Management plays favorites. Enough said. I was not the only one who noticed this. It's not professional. The community aspect of the business feels fake, whereby they will suck in with group exercises and group thinking but will sacrifice you in the name of appeasing the customer. Things may have changed, but there is no balance between pleasing the customer and the employee. The "dream" journals are a joke, and again, I am not the only one to notice that. The company pretends to be family orientated, with all that implies from the boss-employee relationship point of view, yet is corporate to the core and has shown its true colors as it has grown to hire more people. The current gimmick the company sells to the public is an example of that; they trade thorough work for a thinly veiled "deal" in order to obtain more jobs, knowing full well they will come back. In the long run, it's a disservice to the community. They are obsessed with company culture.
