Pros
+ The team is comprised of A++ whip-smart, talented, skilled, motivated, empathetic Silicon Valley veterans. I am grateful to have the opportunity to collaborate with them and learn from them. Leadership leads without micro-managing. Colleagues support one another so we can collectively keep all the balls in the air. + The mission--"Disrupting Inside Out" is long-overdue. Why couldn't Marriott have come up with Airbnb, or Blockbuster with Netflix? They *could* have, if they invested in some informed small bets. Mach49 isn't a consulting firm--we enable companies--that's powerful stuff. +Our clients represent a wide-variety of fascinating industries. One thing they share in is in creating high-caliber teams who are motivated to learn how to disrupt inside out. It's exhilarating to see each team member engage and learn, grow, and own the process.
Cons
We work quickly--perhaps too quickly for some, but we've got a lot to get done in each incubation. While we "work hard and play hard," I am supported by my manager and my colleagues in finding balance in my work and home life--something I particularly appreciate being a full-time single parent.
