Macmillan Response
10y
We are sorry that this employee rates his time at Macmillan negatively. We take complaints of racism very seriously. In response, our practice is to conduct an investigation --as we did in the case cited here –and take appropriate action. Terminating someone for making a complaint is unlikely to be an appropriate response. It was not the appropriate action in this instance and it is not what happened in this case. You can read more about the Company’s commitment to maintaining a fair workplace in our Code of Conduct at http://macmillan.supadu.com/images/ckfinder/704/pdfs/Macmillan/MACMILLAN%20CODE%20OF%20CONDUCT%20USA%20July%202014.pdf.

Pros

A lot of nice people and great books to work with.

Cons

Very antiquated systems. Sales teams and a lot of teams are in bubbles. There are a good amount of managers and higher ups that have been there for a while (10-30 years) and they don't like change, make their teams life hell, and keep them more siloed.
