Pros

Worked with some of the brightest people I’ve ever met, many of whom I still call friends. Autonomy and flexibility. Engaging work, interesting clients, and the opportunity to learn a lot about a variety of industries.

Cons

During my time with the company, it was still very much an old boys club that allowed (and rewarded) misogynistic behavior, intimidation, and flat-out inappropriate treatment of employees. From my perspective, this was a top-down pattern ingrained in company culture. New efforts to “transform” the culture felt like lip service when the same senior leadership was left in power and showed no signs of slowing its ego-petting approach to business that prioritizes profit over quality, ethics, and human worth. Not to mention the constant threat of legal action against employees trying to pursue research-related careers outside of the company – this is the only company I’ve seen to be so vehemently against allowing its employees to ever work for another company in the same industry.

Pros

Minimal - maybe left alone when liked by leadership?

Cons

Countless - deceptive on what the company does. No direction or understanding of execution. No investment to execute or support. Ultimately after hire any idea, strategy, or approach will be shut down if it doesn’t create immediate dollar value for ownership.
