Pros

You're encouraged to 'bring your whole self to work' from mental health to points of views, whatever you feel comfortable with. It's one of the most inclusive places I've ever been, you are respected and have a voice irrespective of any status you may or may not hold. Despite it being a start-up style business whereby there's no clear line to the top (i.e. promotions etc) I feel as though the opportunity for career progression is still great, based on the fact that you will probably grow more as a person here than anywhere else, and that when you do, you'll have a lot of say over where your career goes. Makers are genuine and trustworthy and are a business run on values and good judgement. Colleagues are some of the smartest people I've ever worked with. All in all, a uniquely special place to work.

Cons

Everyone (including me) cares a lot about what we do, which can be exhausting, and even though work-life balance is prioritised, Makers can be an intense place to be. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely something to help new starters with to bring them nicely into the role. Everything at Makers is done in a unique, smart, original way (again, usually a great thing!) but it can be hard for newbies to latch on and feel at ease.
