      Pros

      Making Waves supports kids in a community who really need help.

      Cons

      AWFUL management. The folks in charge are passionate about what they do, but the intense micro-management does a disservice to the organization. Furthermore, the main person in charge is not an educator and makes unilateral decisions based on her intuition. Unfortunately, her intuition is not sufficient.

      Pros

      Clear communication and expectations. I felt supported in my project, and there was a good balance of leadership and freedom when working with my manager.

      Cons

      Difficult to reach by transit, however they had flexible remote / hybrid schedule.

      Fantastic team, incredible mission serving underserved children

      Cons

      I cannot think of a con to speak of, except, as with all non profits, there is not an opportunity for equity based compensation as no one can have ownership in a non profit
