Pros

Not a lot of pros. Hybrid working with flexibility of when you need to come into the office was good. Worked with a great team/department.

Cons

Progression became more difficult as the years went on. Right before I left, it was very difficult to make the time to develop and focus on your own career. Lack of resource and little support from the senior management team didn’t help this. Often, I felt under valued and not heard. As the company grew, once they acquired Co-Op, I, and many of us, became more and more of a number to them, but there was more and more pressure to provide work but less help to achieve this. Pay isn’t great. It was very difficult to get a payrise I felt I deserved. Also, no payrise in 2020 due to Covid but then they bought Co-Op?! Submitted my request to start my CII in January 2022 but it was never signed off by the senior manager, despite numerous chasers. It was still not acknowledged when I left in July 2022… When I finally left, they gave me 1 weeks notice that I owed them holiday pay, which put me in a difficult position financially. They offered no support or even just a discussion about it, instead telling me to take my financial difficulties to my lenders - ‘not their problem’

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us but we’re sorry to hear that you left the company feeling dissatisfied. Whilst the last 2-3 years have presented us with unprecedented challenges, leading to difficult decision-making for the greater good of our company and people, we feel we have come out the other side a much stronger organisation than before and can concentrate on investing in our people and fostering a positive, forward-thinking culture. Although it’s difficult to comment on your personal experiences, without being able to identify you or the specific area of the business you worked in, we can confirm that developing our people is extremely important to us and there are many initiatives in place across the business to support colleagues’ individual development and recognise talent. Also, we have a fair process in place regarding pay and reward which is consistent across the organisation and ensures that colleagues are recognised for their efforts where appropriate. This includes regular opportunities for colleagues to review their performance with their line managers to ensure they are on track or to provide further support where required. Furthermore, our salary and benefits are constantly benchmarked to ensure we remain competitive within our industry. We will share your feedback with our People Team for their reference and should you wish to share further information, you may do so in confidence via: myfeedback@markerstudy.com We wish you well for the future.

Pros

You get paid Only 1 day in the office

Cons

Everything else. We were taken over by markerstudy and at the time I thought maybe its a good thing. How wrong was i! Now im out and working for a different company which is amazing, I genuinely cannot believe how long I lasted at markerstudy. Managers have no clue on what they are doing. No idea how to use the systems at all nor basic insurance knowledge, if you are struggling with something dont bother asking your manager they dont know either. They lay off so much staff and so many people leave due to being so unhappy to the point there is hardly any people in one team which then creates a mountain of work and unachievable goals. They take all bonus' away from workers but higher managers keep there's. If you get a high score on your end of year review you can have a pay raise but then they take it away from you because theres to many people also got a high score. So many people complain at the meetings yet nothing gets done about it. You would think a company would want their employees to be happy which then boosts morale and creates better work but they just dont seem to care then wonder why they have a bad reputation in the industry.
