Very challenging marketplace. Many clients cutting back because of the pandemic and recession.

There are a some really great people, who want to work hard and achieve something in a team focused way. Several members of the staff will put a smile on your face and if you're lucky, you'll get paired with someone who could go from being just your boss to being a friend and mentor. It's a great 'ground floor' marketing job.

The company ties that bind MGI to a corporation that has its focus primarily in other non-marketing industries leave MGI appearing as an afterthought and policies in place don't match up with the reality of the company's location. Trickled down corporate policy on salary, benefits, and weather plans don't fit into the workings of an office in the DC metro area where cost of living is high and people can't drive in snow. Telecommuting polices are outmoded and inconsistent. Complaints or comments on operations are sometimes met with condescension and inaction. The small staff makes it difficult to bring up things anonymously and reporting negative issues to management can bring about retaliation. The low morale that results from interactions with management compounds when it become apparent that certain rules do and do not apply to everyone in equal measure.
