      Pros

      Marlin Hawk is an incredibly place to scale your career as an executive recruiter. It is a flat organization, so you are visibile from the most junior roles to the top. Marlin Hawk is disrupting an otherwise antiquated industry, and the roles we recruiter for are truly transformational. The Partners at Marlin Hawk provide a "Yes First" approach to anything you want to do for the firm or your career. Rather than setting boundaries and limitations, they look for ways in which you can develop how & where YOU want to develop. I don't think there is a better firm in the space for launching a career in search!

      Cons

      While Marlin Haw allows for tons of visibility and limitless opportunities, it lacks an infrastructure for proper professional development. Because there is no real formal training program, you truly have to be entrepreneurial in your own development. That certainly works for some--especially experience recruiters--but it can be difficult for those who have little experience in the industry. Also, your career can become very BD focused as you grow in the company. Sometimes Marlin Hawk cares more about quantity of candidates rather than quality of candidates, and it frustrates clients. Marlin Hawk also deliver searches in a quick time frame. If there is no institutional knowledge of the role for which we are recruiting, we can get into trouble with the client. Sometimes delivering difficult searches in a month, or 6-8 weeks will allow the process to spiral, and quality suffers for both the team and the client.

We are hearing consistent messaging around certain topics and striving to ensure we are a place where a multitude of different talents can thrive and are encouraged to do so. We are looking to improve a great deal of internal processes here which will mean timescales, and the ability for them to undermine the quality of our service, is diminished. Along with client feedback that we are collecting, all of this should help us shape our strategies in the future.

      Pros

      Working for the MH team has been one of the best decisions I've made professionally. This is a place where leadership and peers care about the development of each individual within the organization and strive for the best of them. This is a place where someone can truly grow if they desire to put in the effort and I wouldn't change it for the world. Management is top tier and this is a place where culture and values are lived to the fullest.

      None to speak of, truly find this to be a great place to work.

      Great people with ample opportunities to learn

      Cons

      salaries are not at market value unless you're a partner no standard percentage pay increase no increases based on inflation If concerns are addressed, they make it your job to change them adding additional work to your plate with no guarantee of pay poor managerial experiences that could potential put employees at risk
