Pros
The team I was a part of at MasterClass was the most empathetic, kindest and smartest group I’ve ever worked with. They made a monotonous job much better.
Cons
The company has no clear direction/ changes directions constantly and has focused on hiring big names to make a splash but not really fixed its core problems. I can’t speak for all of management, but I can say my manager was unsympathetic and saddled my team with so much work and pushed us so hard, despite my constant pleas for help. And of course, we all pushed and it was for nothing. He easily discarded us when it came time to increase profit margins. For the amounts of layoffs that have happened at MasterClass, you’d think they’d be experts at it by now. From the moment I was told I was being laid off and the higher-ups lacked answers to very basic questions, I knew this was going to be a mess. Since then, I’ve had to rectify their mistakes — as if I’m not busy trying to find a new job during one of the worst job markets — that have kept me from getting health insurance at a time when I most need health insurance.
