Pros

The potential to make money is there if you’re willing to paddle upstream.

Cons

Almost every new salesperson quits in the first 3 months. Extreme micromanaging Coworkers will lie to you and about you You can wait literal hours to get an up Every day is extreme pressure to hit numbers even when you might get two customers in an 8 hour shift Toxic environment, outdated sales approach Forced to stalk customers even though they don’t want you to. Racist coworkers The list could go on and on.

Pros

This position is basically a retail sales position for furniture that is great for anybody who is looking to build experience. They take the time to train you and do their best to help you succeed. It is not easy selling furniture and you get what you put in. They had no limit to the amount of hours you could work, so I got great overtime pay. They have a draw against commission pay structure, so you have to sell a certain amount to receive a commission check. It was my first sales job and I learned a lot, anybody who is willing to put in the work can be successful here.

Cons

Difficult to reach quota some months, and it can be difficult to get customers depending on how busy the store is. Weekends are required and you will most likely spend more than 40 hours a week there.
