Pros

I've worked with this company for two years. I am leaving Medapoint of my own accord and am off to medical school. A huge pro with this company is the upward mobility. You are in no way stuck in your position - your work can change, your job title can change, and your salary can change - all depending on your work ethic and attitude. The job is what you make of it. I started as an intern in quality assurance and moved my way up into a salary sales position after a year. The potential to rise up the company ladder is huge. Like a previous reviewer said, there is lots of flexibility in hours and working from home. It is in no way a corporate, clock-in clock-out environment. As long as you are productive, the leniency is great. Dentist appointment? No problem. Need to leave early to pick up kids from school? Totally fine. The people that work here are amazing. Everyone is collaborative and friendly. I've seen the comments on the management team. They can be stern, sure. They have to be. They are also two extremely hardworking and kind men that I've had the pleasure of getting to know well over these past two years - I'd consider both of them my family now. The people who had issues most likely were not performing as well as they could have. If you do your work and keep a positive attitude, you will not have a problem.

Cons

No, the office isn't beautiful. There are more important things in a workplace than the aesthetic of the office. You will have a desk, a chair, a monitor, and anything else you might require to do your job. We're a small software company in Austin - as long as you don't expect the amenities provided in a corporate environment, I think you will find that the office will suit all of your needs. As far as training goes, I feel like I was adequately trained for the positions I held. That being said, there's no hand holding, no step-by-step instructions to follow. If you consider this a con, you might not be prepared for this dynamic, problem-solving environment. You create your own steps to follow and you develop plans of action. There is guidance and help along the way, but you're in the driver's seat.

Pros

Culture of growth, challenging projects, awesome management. I've been with the company for 3 years, worn many hats, and learned the software business inside and out. This is a great place to work!

Cons

Buckle up, because you're going to do a lot of work here! Not a con, but if you're hoping to float on by this is NOT the place for you.

Pros

Some flexibility in hours/ working from home. There are some really good people who work there-- they won't last long.

Cons

No benefits at all Micro-Managing dictator CEO who disrespects everyone and changes course, and employees, on a whim. Yelling is his main method of motivating his employees to get things done. You need a thick skin to deal with this person. Turnover every week. Either people quit or get fired. Few stay more than a year. Out-of-date tools. No documentation whatsoever. Broken furniture. No training. Buggy, spaghetti code. Unhappy clients. Most programming is off-shore. QA, process and change control are virtually non-existent.
