Pros

Good benefits, company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance - high-deductible but reimbursable. Decent office space, new computers and iPhones for all employees. Occasional social events, and paid lunches or dinners. Flexible hours for the most part, remote work is okay occasionally if approved by manager. CEO Dan is likable and friendly. Ability to experiment and pursue own projects if time allows. Professional development plans are made with resources and time provided to work on it.

Cons

Only has one stable retainer client, whose representatives are rude and condescending - to the point where I saw a co-worker be broken down into tears - and Misix management doesn't stand up to them to avoid losing business. Other client work is on and off. Managers are promoted based on tenure and not necessarily talent. Shows signs of financial instability - while the paycheck delays never happened while I was there, it doesn't surprise me to read they are happening now. There is a divide between younger and more experienced employees. Salaries are lower than the market for most positions, some as low as $15 hourly for full-time. Some managers can be passive aggressive and condescending.

Pros

Stable (and growing) company; competitive salaries and benefits program - tremendous flexibility to work in the office or from home as needed. All team members make a contribution to the success of the company. There is a vision and plan being executed upon - and a focused / dedicated leadership team in place.

Cons

Misix has two offices - but that's not necessarily a "con" - it adds to the unique culture existing within the company that we are all one team and focused on doing what is right for the people and client.

Pros

Nice location and free Keurig coffee, but sparsely furnished office with a vibe out of that 70s show. Looks like most of the office equipment came from Goodwill. Benefits are average, but healthcare out of pocket make it unrealistic to use. Young group of people, inexperienced and pretentious.

Cons

The company is not stable. Often there is not enough work. Paychecks are often delayed, and the bi weekly scheduled often gets pushed to monthly. Utilities like water and AC are often broke. If you are looking for a consistent, stable job to support yourself, look elsewhere.

Misix Response

Thank you for your review. As an organization now in its 12th year of operations, we certainly understand that our environment may not suit everyone. To accommodate our growth, the Milwaukee office was recently reconfigured and redesigned with a Midcentury Modern aesthetic, including many open spaces for meeting and collaboration. We provide each of our dedicated team members with a recent release PC or MacBook, as well as 100% company-paid health and welfare benefits for full-time employees after 60 days (401k matching up to 4% of your individual contribution starts after one year, but enrollment is available from Day 1). If stability is defined by committed and engaging coworkers, diverse and consistent client work, and a solid foundation of financial stability, your remarks would appear to describe another organization. In any case, we're sorry that Misix wasn’t a good fit for you, but we do hope you find the atmosphere and career you're looking for.
