Pros

They have a real commitment to good design and ux. They some how have hired really great people that work really hard and are very talented.

Cons

The company culture is pitched to be very open and laid back but in reality it is the exact opposite. The CEO and his wife are emotionally abusive to the employees and the whole company operates on fear and deception and there is no trust whatsoever. The employees can rarely do the job they are hired to do because the CEO has his hand in every detail, especially in fields in which he is not the expert. He is a smart guy but he is not in control if his emotions or actions and at times employees have felt unsafe around him.

Pros

Working at Mobients was a really great experience. From day 1 the team made me feel like I'd been there for years. The CEO and founder is a great guy, and really cares about his people. Upper management encouraged employees and contractors to be communicative of any difficulties or obstacles in the way of personal or professional development. Always felt like my suggestions were being heard and carefully considered.

Cons

Working here might make it hard to move on to a less flexible, less friendly atmosphere after having it so nice :)

Pros

This is a high-octane, never the same process for solving complex problems kind of place. So it can be chaotic at times but you will be learning and working on projects at the forefront of technology and interactivity. To do this type of work it's imperative to have employees cut from various pieces of cloth. I had 10 years of interactive experience but have learned so much in the last 16 months I wouldn't even recognize my previous self. If you are at a point in your career where you're up for a high risk high reward job, where you will have the pleasure of working on high profile clients with some brilliant people, this is the place.

Cons

A small design shop requires some cost decisions. Bring your own keyboard and/or Wacom. No free dinner for working late on billable or internal projects. Very little pto. Hard to get devices to test work. No IT or developers in-house. Because everyone works so hard, some of those lofty things like parties or area rugs are not part of the package. There isn't a biz dev department, it comes with the risk of only having 1 client. This is not a place where you should expect company-wide yearly raises or an expense account.
