Pros

Flexiable work schedule, lots of paid time off, they will work with you unless it’s about your pay don’t even bother.

Cons

I have worked for this company 9 years, I am making slightly over what fast food makes down the street, other companies with less profit turn pay much more in the same area, we’re getting paid 15.50- 18 an hour to work on million dollar parts, read blue prints, and make sure the equipment is good for our military, yet fast food makes just as much and Volvo starts at 22. It’s messed up, everyone knows it. This is blacksburg but the poor counties surrounding it pay much better. Most of the employees are fed up. They gave new hires 4 dollar pay raise, and people who were there 9 years 50 cents. It’s disgusting.

Pros

The company has a bit of a startup-like vibe, and still feels established. They’re pretty open to letting younger engineers take on real responsibility , which makes it a good place to grow. From what I’ve seen in all-hands meetings, the senior leadership also seems to genuinely care about employees—you can kind of tell they’re paying attention and trying to take care of the team.

Cons

There’s nothing perfect, enjoy the time when you get in.

We believe that giving younger engineers real responsibility early on is one of the best ways to learn and grow, so it’s wonderful to know you’re finding meaningful challenges here. It’s also incredibly encouraging to see that our senior leadership’s commitment to listening and supporting the team comes through in our all-hands meetings—that sense of genuine care is something we strive for every day. Pros

Good Health Benefits, and 401K

Cons

Although Moog promotes an unlimited PTO policy and emphasizes work-life balance, the actual execution is highly inconsistent and depends heavily on management. Some managers are supportive, while others induce guilt, leading to a culture where employees either underutilize their time or feel uncertain about expectations. Furthermore, compensation lags behind the market average, and internal career growth feels stagnant rather than actively supported.
