Pros

I will have had 35 years working in IT, or one of its predecessors/offshoots in that period, when I retire from here shortly. There are 10 major company values at Moog. For the most part, my management, supervisors, and co-workers have adhered to the ones (the 'top 8') that make the working experience important: Mutual Trust Honesty and Integrity Competence Hands-on Mentality Authenticity Mutual understanding Joint decision making Work-Life Balance In all my years, I think the last one is the most important. I believe I could have 'climbed the company ladder' by doing the things my peers did to get promoted (obtain Masters degree(s), move from one department to the another, etc.). While it would have been nice (I think), it was more important to be 'available' as a husband and father. Moog, Inc. - and particularly my supervisors - have enabled me to do that, and provide a terrific life for me and my family.

Cons

While I think this can be true in any large place of employment, I think I see it happening more frequently because of the rapid growth I've seen in the last 5-10 years: While we have some very sharp young minds that have been hired here, and a lot of fantastic experienced people around, we have others that leave me scratching my head. We have some that have been around a very long time - and I can not explain how, We have a bunch that are relatively new people that must have had amazing interviewing skills - and can't wait to be promoted - though they have accomplished little in my eyes. I guess it takes all kinds...

Pros

The company has a bit of a startup-like vibe, and still feels established. They’re pretty open to letting younger engineers take on real responsibility , which makes it a good place to grow. From what I’ve seen in all-hands meetings, the senior leadership also seems to genuinely care about employees—you can kind of tell they’re paying attention and trying to take care of the team.

Cons

There’s nothing perfect, enjoy the time when you get in.

Pros

Good Health Benefits, and 401K

Cons

Although Moog promotes an unlimited PTO policy and emphasizes work-life balance, the actual execution is highly inconsistent and depends heavily on management. Some managers are supportive, while others induce guilt, leading to a culture where employees either underutilize their time or feel uncertain about expectations. Furthermore, compensation lags behind the market average, and internal career growth feels stagnant rather than actively supported.
