Pros

You will get a certain amount of freedom with how you code that you wouldn't get elsewhere. You may also be put in charge of large projects despite being in the jr.-mid tier, so that'll somewhat jumpstart your career. Salary is also decent, and you get paid for overtime. The place is also probably nice with its gym, spa, etc., but since we're in a pandemic, that doesn't really count for now.

Cons

- Zero work-life balance. Especially in bigger projects, you will be contacted after office hours, and will often receive calls during weekends to join a meeting just to ask you a question. You will barely get enough time to self-study and improve your skills, which is why a lot of developers there end up stagnating, especially when it comes to learning/adapting new tech stacks/architectures. - Non-working holidays, while paid in most companies, isn't paid in this one, so you may be surprised to see a deduction in your salary when there's a declared special non-working holiday. - Ironically, for a company that claims to be "technologically advanced," their payroll system is manual, which means that you will almost always have to compute your salary if you have overtime, because a lot of us have gotten huge discrepancies there. - There's just something disingenuous about companies saying "we're like a family here," because while the positive side to this is the camaraderie one might have in a family, this more often implies that you'll be doing a lot of unpaid/paid OT because you're a "family" and you want to be helpful and not leave behind your "family members." - DSU (daily standups) should take around 5-15 minutes, but in this company, it could last up to 3 hours because they include the client, and the clients ask questions outside the scope of the DSU. Eventually, you'll have discussions regarding backend implementation that isn't at all relevant to frontend developers, or QA questions that isn't relevant to developers, etc. Sometimes, you end up spending 1 hour re-explaining everything you already stated in the previous standups because usually nobody takes notes anyway. - A lot of PMs (project managers) aren't qualified; many of them have sales backgrounds from retail companies and do not have an inkling of development knowledge. This means they end up making a lot of incorrect estimates and missing even the easiest technical details, which leads to developers having to meet with clients themselves, while the PM barely listens in the background. - Retrospectives are token gestures here; you will get a lot of valid complaints from devs/QAs/SAs, which will be affirmed but promptly forgotten. - Lack of training - you'll need to know how to self-train here, since the people who stay here long enough will likely have stagnated, and people who are properly trained often don't last very long in this company because they burn out.

Pros

The company premises are beautiful, there's a gym, barbershop, game room and salon inside, parking space are more than enough to cater employees with vehicles. You'll meet people who are passionate about their work here. The negative side is the high attrition rate due to workload, employee politics, poor senior management handling and HR payroll.

Cons

needs better management on minor departments
