Pros

The owners want it to look like a major engineering firm.

Cons

Awful place to work. Seems all good until the N-word is thrown around like nothing, until I opened my drawer and found newspaper clippings of terrorist attacks and finally until I was told that because of my age, they needed not to train me. Oh and until a PM stole my ideas and played it off as his own after demeaning me. The lack of diversity is STAGGERING!!

Pros

MSA is different from previous firms that I have worked at. While other firms chase large projects that sometimes lead to relationships, MSA pursues relationships that lead to projects. If you're interested in improving your community, environment, etc. your primary focus is on people and relationships, not projects and profits. MSA is definitely focused on people and relationships with our clients.

Cons

As a service-first company, some clients seem to take advantage of that "go the extra mile" attitude. Maybe it's unintentional - with many clients getting "managed" by larger, national firms, it's plausible that they're used to routine push-back on scope/fee issues. It's still challenging to continue providing high quality service for clients that don't appreciate it, even if we don't pursue work with them in the future. Fortunately, negative client relationships are few and far between.
