Pros
My time at NAPW has been nothing short of valuable. For the past eight months I have worked with a diverse group of wonderful, warm, professional women. Looking back at myself eight months ago, I realize how much I've grown and learned-- all while making amazing, lifelong friends and mentors along the way.
At NAPW I was always treated as a professional adult, and that meant a lot to me. I've had the pleasure of bonding with my coworkers, spreading the NAPW mission, and ensuring that NAPW members are receiving the absolute best. In doing so, I've learned that empowering women is something that I am very passionate about. Discovering that alone was enough to make my experience worth it. But let's not forget the deadlines, urgent tasks, and independent projects that I've been assigned. Every bit of pressure and urgency resulted in valuable lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life and career. They gave me the confidence to voice my opinion, make suggestions, and to ask for help when I need it. I truly felt apart of a team, and what an honor it was to be apart of a team with such an empowering mission. As a young female college student, it is comforting to know that I now have an entire association of professional women to turn to.
I am so proud and honored to have had this experience with NAPW. I couldn't have imagined a better internship experience.
Thank you, NAPW!
Cons
Sometimes working through lunch, high pressure, sometimes carrying about a project takes longer than necessary
