Pros

Great benefit package and overall on good financial standing to support volatility.

Cons

Although I left the company over a year ago, I remain in contact with colleagues who still work there. Based on their feedback, little appears to have changed, and the organization has not meaningfully addressed the issues that existed previously. They continue to report the same management challenges I faced, particularly an outsized emphasis on administrative functions and their perspectives, along with a disproportionate focus on HR and team optics rather than the lived experiences of employees handling the routine operational workload each day. Additionally, individuals who are the sole contributors in their departments, or who work in smaller teams, often find themselves consistently overlooked for advancement or new opportunities, largely because leadership is reluctant to disrupt operations or invest in backfilling their roles. Over the past two years, Nagase has experienced significant turnover. Notably, it was not only routine sales personnel or long tenured staff who departed, but many of the company’s highest performing and most capable employees. This was especially evident when multiple Trade Compliance and Operations professionals departed from both the Illinois and Michigan teams. The IL sales team was also significantly impacted, experiencing multiple departures. When new operations leadership transitioned into IL, it quickly became apparent that team morale was at a very low satisfactory level. My experience was no different than described here, and the vicious cycle continues.
