Pros

Flexibility of working from home and office life

Cons

(Had to put “intern/trainee” as there was no option for temporary contract from recruitment agency.) Unfortunately, despite being hired on a temporary to perm basis, this offer never became a reality, and instead promises were consistently made but no actions. There is only so long an employee can feel like an outsider before it wears and becomes demoralising and humiliating. Especially when Team Meetings are conducted expressing everyone’s payment increase, when there’s a staff member on £10 an hour with no increase during a cost of living crisis.

Pros

An organisation which is comprised of very welcoming and friendly people. And it had some of the most intelligent people I have ever worked with. The leadership are open and accessible; and there is an emphasis on team mentality culture regardless of which team you find yourself working on. There are opportunities to interact with influential stakeholders within the education policy world, and work with external stakeholders in some instances. Leadership is supportive in the continued development of its staff.

Cons

No real cons - it is a non-profit organisation, so do not expect top tier equivalent private sector remuneration. However, the remuneration is definitely competitive or better, with respect to comparative organisations.
