Pros
The pay is good, fellow employees are very friendly. Pay is not worth the nonsense you have to deal with though from the entirety of upper management.
Cons
Everything else. Scheduling is last minute, if at all and there is no job security. As a new employee, you are very disposable no matter the quality of your work or customer service. I worked at the wall st location for a week and they told me they were overstaffed so they couldn't give me hours for the next week even though I was the only new employee... They offered me hours at their location in Harlem which I took even though it wasn't the job/location that I was hired for and the commute was inconvenient. My first day in Harlem, they put me on an 11hr shift by myself without letting me know opening or closing duties. Because I was the only server, I was also not given a proper break. When I finally took my break, I was only able to sit down for 5-10 minutes before I was expected to serve guests THROUGH MY BREAK. When I asked questions, management gave vague answers if any. After the second week, I was again not on the schedule and given no response when I asked why. Later that week after not being given any hours I was asked to meet with management at 2pm. By 2:30, no one had shown up. Finally we had our meeting and they told me they were letting me go. When I asked why, my manager kept repeating that she didnt have to give a reason as they are an at-will employer. She was incredibly rude and I cant understand not giving an employee a reason for why they are being let go, even if the employer is at will. Prior to this meeting, I was given no written or verbal warnings about my performance.
