Pros
- High quality of work - Lots of open source contribution opportunities - Ability to work with some big names - They heavily invest in the annual party which is awesome. - Really positive CEO & President that exuberates leadership
Cons
- Long working hours (9 - 6) - If you struggle to meet the high bar they set, you fired in a day or two with zero support - Toxic management culture with way too much boss whip cracking - Made to feel bad for not taking training, or holiday due to endlessly stressful busy projects to contribute to - The progression path was confusing for engineers - Sometimes being fully remote can be quite lonely, I wanted more ability to meet other engineers more often than once per year - QA felt like it was an afterthought - As an engineer, felt like a cog in a large corporate machine that was aggressively growing due to investment - Sometimes you just have to do what client want even if not good code - Forced to use personal holiday to cover company shutting doors for Xmas break else would have unpaid leave - we just got out of Covid was last year 2020, I want to relax without reducing my holiday!
