Pros
Nelson had a lot going for it prior to the new leadership insertion, some time mid 2023. Many employees had been with the company for 5, 10, 15, and even 20+ years. Family feel, supportive leadership, employee autonomy and work life balance/flexibility were all values that were embodied from the top down. Most clients were repeats, candidates were managed in a way that set us a part from the "big" recruiting firms. People came back to us because we cared and had pride in our work. We supported our community through helping companies hire the best talent.
Cons
When the new CEO and added Senior Leaders were brought on, a decline started. There was no transparency in what they intended to fix/build, even though it was clear that an agenda was put in place. New initiatives didnt make sense and there was more emphasis on metrics and jumping through hoops than on people. Lots of party tricks and talks of innovation, all while simultaneously creating a culture that breeds micromanagement and unhealthy competition. Not surprising many people have left to join competitors.
