Cons
Management needs some serious training on how to conduct themselves appropriately. Throughout the last several years at the company, I was talked down to, harassed, abused, and spoken about throughout the office negatively by my management team. During my time there, we had a senior management team change that ran the company into the ground. Management selected favorite members of the teams, and used retaliation tactics anytime someone brought up serious concerns. For example, I was being harassed by many of my team members on a daily basis, and when it was brought to my managers attention, I was told to simply "pick and choose my battles" and that reporting someone for repeated abuse would backfire because "we all do it". Which is completely false. They will over work you to the point where it is impossible to schedule HR meetings to address your concerns. And once it's too late, HR will not represent you or have your interests in mind. When issues were presented within the team, HR took my management teams word at face value with no further investigations after several complaints about the state of the department- and I was terminated siting unfounded accusations that did not correlate to my performance throughout my time within the company. What triggered this to happen was addressing concerns I had with my supervisor talking negatively about me on the office floor with other team members. Management and HR will not have your best interests in mind. The pay is completely unfair for the amount of work you are expected to do. Management requires that all team members work with everyone outside of the office and outside working hours without financial compensation, and if you refuse it is met with yet again, more retaliation. I was required to bring my laptop with me on scheduled vacation that I had pre-approved for several months. This was not optional, and I was not compensated for any of the work I completed while on vacation. I was then met with complaints from my direct supervisor of things I didn't catch that were missed by the team while I was away. She was present and fully able to manage the team and I wasn't supposed to be working. They refuse to allow team members to work remotely unless there is an urgent situation at hand, when they will make it out to be much more flexible. Management does not take responsibility for their shortcomings and instead will fully twist the situation, preventing any recourse. Management can be reported, but these are not taken seriously by senior and VP+ management teams, and are consistently ignored. You will not be given proper coaching if you are written up, and you are written up at face value with complaints. Neoperl has recently laid off several employees 25 days before Christmas, with a joke of a pension, right before their health insurance was due to expire with no warning or heads up. They had explained to the staff that they laid off, that they can "check back in 6 months to see where we're at" and did not provide employees with ANY resources to help them know if they were going to get their jobs back at any point. Neoperl is also forcing all of it's staff to borderline part time hours, just enough to keep benefits active. This company is a walking red flag, I could go on for days. Do not work here.
