Despite being fully remote, the team is intentional about fostering a supportive and collaborative culture. Like many tech startups, there’s work to do when it comes to increasing gender diversity. As one of the first women on the team, I’ve seen firsthand the company’s openness to change and the steps we’re taking to build a more balanced and inclusive team.

The people at NetRise are amazing, including our founders. I came here to specifically work with Tom, the CEO, and Derek, the VP of Field Engineering. Honestly every department is great, the product guys, the marketing guys, the engineers, etc. You must be able to self-start, and do it rapidly, but if you put in the long hours you will reap the rewards.

You have to have a thick skin to work here. Also, the male to female ratio is something like ten men to every women, it could be a bit more balanced (we have hired two women in the last 6 months, so ramping up there). It can tend to feel like the Sword of Damacles is above your head at any given time, but that's just the nature of a true startup.
