Pros

The friendships and the dogs in the office.

Cons

This is by far the worst company for which you could work. NLS has favorites, and I'm perplexed by how I was treated. Their training is inadequate, and they are incapable of dealing with constructive criticism. I requested a meeting with my director in the hopes of receiving feedback, and she had a letter printed out letting me go. There was no reason or warning. After leaving my previous employer of 17 years and taking a pay cut, I worked extremely hard for this company. In training, I held my own and stayed focused. They couldn't even give me a legitimate reason for letting me go. This is heartbreaking, and you will regret working for them because they cannot be trusted nor do they care about their employees. Give it 5yrs and this company will sink and I hope it does for the way they react people unfairly.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. It is hard to leave an organization and even harder to appeal to all the people who work here, however that does not mean we stop trying. To address your concerns, we agree, sometimes a very bonded group of professionals seems to feel partial, and for us this is a challenge because we are focused on a very specific industry with particular talent needs. As a new company, employee referrals are one of the ways which we have grown from 3 to 300 in under 5 years -- we hire for experience and expertise, not camaraderie. Constructive feedback is how we continue to grow, and we have demonstrated our ability to lean in and listen, by developing more people-oriented programs, including paying employees to take vacation, expanding our training programs and investing in certifications (Scrum, PMI, SAFe, and beyond). Our attrition numbers are among the lowest in the industry, so while we recognize that we have far to go, we continue to grow purposefully and professionally, and support ALL our talent equally and unequivocally, and most importantly, objectively.

Pros

Benefit package which includes PTO

Cons

Upper Management only cares about themselves and doesn't listen to the employees. They don't care when someone leaves. They are promoting people into upper management that have no business being in charge not only of people but a company. They are not transparent like they claim they are and only care about certain people and are not addressing the real problems. If they would listen to their employees and fix the REAL problem, the company would succeed. They tell you to come to them and let them know what the problem is. When you do, they don't listen or do anything about it.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. You're describing a specific pattern: you spoke up, and nothing happened. That's not a gap in our process. That's a breakdown in trust, and those don't get fixed by telling people we have an open-door policy. You called out the People team directly. When the people responsible for culture and employee experience don't get it right for an employee, it can show up everywhere, and you felt that. Putting people into leadership who aren't ready to lead people can be damaging. It's a fair criticism to make, and it deserves a real answer, not a line about how we're committed to developing great leaders. We're looking at how feedback moves inside this company and whether our actions match what we say we believe. That work isn't finished.
