Pros

Very friendly staff members and no staff politics. Latest technologies: .Net Api, Angular and SQL. Which is kept updated throughout the year. Very nice equipment, good computer, three monitors and a amazing desk chair. Free customisable coffee machine. Casual clothing. Optional monthly social events often involving dominos and BBQs. Relaxed introduction for junior developers, deadlines needs to be met but there certainly is a more relaxed approach. The location is both a pro and a con, it's a beautiful location in the summer with walks but can be boring in the winter it isn't close to anything to go out for lunch. Flexible working hours starting anywhere between 8-9.

Cons

Staff retention is a problem due to salaries not being competitive with other companies. No remote working Junior developers work load was 75% fixing bugs. Great for learning the product but it feels like it caps your development experience. Product specifications don't really exist and everything needs CEO approval means a lot of waiting. A lot of the applications ui and the functionality is the same feels like a lot of the development is a copy paste job.

Thank you for your review! As a small company, we offer different benefits to larger city-centre firms by giving our employees a competitive salary and a great place to work. A big part of this is the office's location. We recognised that bug fixing isn't the most exciting introduction to our product, which is why our three most recent new developers have all been given projects to create something new. I'm very pleased you enjoyed your time with us and hope it was a good launchpad for your development career.

Pros

NoMuda is a small but growing company with good people and a great software product. Junior developers will enjoy a leisurely introduction into the software industry and will undoubtedly gain a lot from contributing to a world-class manufacturing system, however staff retention is a problem at NoMuda and many are not motivated to commit to a lengthy service here.

Cons

Staff retention is a problem. NoMuda has ambitious growth plans however growth has been, and will continue to be, hindered by the CEO who rarely delegates to his experienced team. Most, if not all, product decisions require his personal involvement and sign-off and this has been a growing bottleneck for years. Software specifications take the form of hastily prepared PowerPoint slides which rarely provide sufficient detail. These are prepared by the CEO who simply doesn't have the time for all the duties he is bestowing on himself. NoMuda is run more like a family than a business, and if you don't particularly share the passions of the owners (dogs, country life, model planes, scuba diving and clay pigeon shooting) you may find it difficult to gel with them. The company needs to relocate to sustain growth (it is currently based in a remote barn conversion on an active farm) however the possible choices of local premises is being dictated by their suitability for walking the dogs or flying model planes nearby.

Hello, thank you for your feedback! I'm really glad you liked working on our product. We are proud of it and our customers love it. This is one of the reasons we have had some of the "Growing pains" you experienced, we have become more successful than we could have predicted 5 years ago. The development of the business is ongoing and we are aware that there is more to do. As an example of the lessons we have learned, there is now a full-time HR Manager to help with people and a dedicated Scrum Master to improve how our developers work. In terms of the building, we have recently acquired more space at the site and there are more plans on the way our General Manager is looking into. We are very lucky to have ample parking here which we like, rather than making our employees pay for parking in Stratford for example. We are committed to continuing to make positive steps to be a great place to work and are always seeking like-minded people to help us achieve this.
