Pros

Still some colleagues left to share your frustration with.

Cons

You don't believe these kind of things happen before you experience it yourself. You join a company in the beginning when it's relatively small, there is excitement in the air, there's vision and everybody feels they can contribute to the growth and culture of the company. You feel ownership of things. Times are hard but you feel a sense of accomplishment when you bit by bit mature the processes and solutions and win new deals. Great things are waiting. Then you get bought buy a giant, who just wants you for your pool of talent and industry credibility, to fix all the excrement shows they have created, but has zero interest in developing anything except the bottom line. Instead of interesting and cutting-edge technologies you end up working with massive failed migrations, legacy applications and things you thought you'll never have to see again. You are forced to compromise your work ethics. Just get it done. And then there is hyper growth. Double the size of the company every year. Because big is beautiful. It doesn't matter if your organization can handle it, maybe the quality suffers a bit but who cares? As long as deal sizes keep on growing and the management bonuses keep flowing. No one is really in for long term anyways so it's not their problem. You stay for the money. Suddenly billability is the new god. Hypergrowth is not profitable growth? Who knew!? All the good things go away. No more free training, no more community events. Let's trim a bit. Streamline. Does it affect billability in a negative way? It's not important then. Let's keep the company values though, they are free and mean nothing. Layoffs, layoffs, layoffs. In the end you just don't want to interview people anymore because you don't want to lie. Not about the company or the fact that no one is actually being hired. You don't want to go to the office anymore because it will only get you more depressed. Sad faces and lambs without a shepherd waiting for the slaughter. You stay because you still wish some miracle would bring back the company you joined, the one you rooted for, but you know it's not going to happen. People are leaving, seeing where things are heading. There are no happier times ahead for this place. Unlike with Jonah, there is no escape from the whale.

We appreciate your candid feedback about your experience with our company. We understand that your journey with us has seen the transition from a smaller environment to a larger organisation with different challenges. This transformation has presented both opportunities and complexities. As a company that started with a small team, we are incredibly proud of our growth journey, becoming a European leader in cloud services. However, we also recognise that growth can bring about changes in culture and priorities. We acknowledge your concern about the recent layoffs, which were part of our strategy to optimise our workforce and enhance efficiency. We want to assure you that these decisions were not made lightly and were intended to ensure the company's long-term stability and growth. We are committed to supporting our employees' development, both through opportunities for training and through fostering a work environment that aligns with our values. We have an annual individual training budget in place, allowing you and your People Leader to have control over your personal development and learning journey. Creating a positive and proactive work culture is a top priority for us. We acknowledge that there are areas that require further improvement. We encourage you to continue the dialogue by reaching out to your People Leader or relevant channels within the company. Pros

The good things about Nordcloud are that we are international, skilled colleagues, good market position

Cons

The start-up has been harder than I had expected, due to cleaning up in Salesforce, many customer cases that have to be handled and started again.
