Pros
It’s a small private label company that has a great group of people working at Head Office. Great place to get your foot through the door especially when you work with lovely people. I learned a lot in the short time I was there. Accommodating of a work life balance.
Cons
Salary is alright and not negotiable. They take a huge chunk for benefits! Benefit package is horrible. My short time there I went through a lot. Dealt with a micromanager, this really hinged my growth at the company. I went in looking for a mentor and I barely had that. Not enough one on ones with the senior buyer. There are other buyers and other department managers who are willing to be people person but sadly the one I worked with, didn’t give me that opportunity. I am not sad about my time there because I met great people who really encouraged growth and development. But just beware. She was great at being accommodating doctors visit etc. but because of the lack of relating, clearly this wasn’t a relationship worth trying for, even though I had taken the moment to hint at the fact that she had been micromanaging. You can’t even suggest anything Cus she’s been doing it for 20+ years, which makes sense. But you need room for suggestions. Little no room for growth as everyone has been there 20+ years, unless they leave.
