After being offered a job HR asked to see a payslip from my old employer, I asked why, I was given the answer a this how HK companies do it (this is not how Australian companies do it) having been an employee and employer I have never asked or been asked this before. My old payslip has no relevance to this job and what you're willing to pay me. After questioning this and asking how they handle my personal data as they also asked for a copy of my passport which I have no problem providing once they can let me know what their privacy policy is and how they handle my personal information. After asking these questions they pulled the offer. Very questionable HR practices.
