Pros

Amazing, fun, intelligent people. Awesome culture. One day we turned the conference room into a ping-pong table and held a tournament. Every holiday and birthday was celebrated with decorations and treats and usually some form of liquor. Fun, interesting work.

Cons

OTX was bought by Ipsos and a lot of things changed... The culture is now very different...

Pros

Market Research: not the most glamorous of professions. On the sexy-o-meter of professions, market research comes in just above road construction or grocery check out clerk. Why did I pick this field? I'm a numbers geek who loves to know what people are thinking and why they think the way they do. But OTX has made market research sexy! I'm not sure about all the offices but the London, LA and even Chelsea offices are amazing spaces to work - even rivaling spaces of cool, hip, sexy digital media and dot.com companies. Huge enormous companies with huge enormous budgets can't rival the gym, the zen room, the yoga instructor, the half basketball court and all the fun Corporate management puts forth.

Cons

There seems to be a disconnect at times between the vision and culture of the company and the day to day reality within various departments. Some department managers don't take morale as seriously as the Company visionary (CEO) does. If the cool, hip spirit infiltrated its way to the day to day of how the departments are run, work might not get done but OTX would definitely be the most fun place on the planet to work! Managers sometimes commisurate instead of doing what they can to keep their own team member's energy levels high and keep them focused on the bigger picture. Some departments are overworked while others say they are busy but are never in the office a full 8 hours.
