Smaller company in this industry so things can change very quickly but management always navigates the changes well.

Pros

Working on the design and engineering of consumer products. Free lunch every Wednesday. Superficially very nice building with leaking sewer gasses in the first floor restrooms, several unheated rooms, non-functional automatic doors, broken elevator, and a leaking roof.

Cons

(This is regarding the Rochester New York location.) Constant turnover. Low pay. No stability. Shifting priorities. Supposedly owned and managed by a kind of exclusionary religious group. After applying for a full time position listed at $60-80k salary, I worked for these guys for 7 months, 3 days a week at $30 an hour (roughly 2/3rds of what someone with my level of experience should have been earning), designing and engineering new products for the construction trades and 'mentoring' their other staff designers. I put up with this low pay in the hopes that they would hire me on full time which I was promised after my first month there. They are an international company with offices in Australia and England as well - these locations may have better management, but the US group is on its way down the drain.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re pleased to hear your positive feedback on working across design and engineering and the products we develop. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, particularly in relation to pay, stability, and your overall experience at the Rochester location. We recognise how important it is that our teams feel supported, fairly rewarded and have clarity on opportunities. We are focused on strengthening consistency across our locations, improving communication around opportunities and ensuring a more transparent and structured approach to pay and progression. We thank you for your time in providing feedback and wish you all the best for the future.
