Pros
Some good coworkers, small team
Cons
The work there was for a start up division where features were being pushed faster than the software had time to stabilize. Sprints were 2 weeks and were tight when work wouldn't be tested by Business side until nearly the end of sprint.
During this pandemic they reopened as soon as they could. It was requested for us to be there 2 days then 4 days, then all the time with the rising cases. I felt this was a bit reckless when there are like 30 - 50 people in the area. For a development position it's extremely easy to do it remotely especially when there were two contractors already from outside of Canada. The management would say it's for "better communication" but really there was no interaction with other people as most of it was done over slack, or zoom.
This company feels like one that if you're not in the office at your seat for 8.5 hours a day you're not doing your job. The benefits were all put on you to deal with with an HSA so you had to fill out multiple systems to just claim things.
I find this company not really interested in the work an employee does but how much you just accept how they want you to work.
