Pros
The overall mission of the company is what gets you going every day. You feel good about the work you're doing, and it positively impacts the audience you're trying to help. Everyone I encountered was intelligent and kind.
Cons
From the moment I started, our department could never get ahead because executive leadership would ask us to go in a different direction, or better yet drop everything and spend the summer rebranding the entire company. We would set goals and never be able to execute them before they changed again. The atmosphere felt very "hush, hush". For example, we launched the BRIDGE Initiative in April 2022. We were asked to post on social and spread the news. Then, a few weeks later we weren't supposed to mention it anymore. However, there wasn't a clear reason for "why". There was a glaring lack of planning and direction from leadership. Monday mornings were spent with a frilly All Hands call -- I could think of 1000 ways to better use all employees' time. The layoffs in December 2022 were brutal. It only further cements the lack of planning and direction of the company. They tried to fix process problems with people and hired too many, too fast. People were being hired up until the week of the layoffs, to start a job at the beginning of the week and then be laid off on Friday. I was part of the layoffs, and never received a call from my manager. My email access was turned off, and I got an email from another manager to my personal email account. It easily could've gone to the SPAM folder if it weren't for a kind teammate who called and gave me a heads up of what was happening since I was out. Truly an experience I will never forget.
