Pros

A great company to work for to get your foot in the door of Silicon Valley. Work is fun and with great people. You get to learn from top executives from around the Valley in weekly sessions they put on for the Labs community. If you are interested in starting a company or working in Silicon they are the best company to learn from.

Cons

If you take advantage of all the opportunities they offer the only con is no pay.

Pros

My experience at GSVlabs was priceless. During the months I was interning there I dove right in the “Silicon Valley Mindset”. My responsibilities were mostly related to Biz Dev, but even though, I had the opportunity to learn (a lot) about lean startup approaches, raising from VC’s, product development and tech trends like A.I. and Machine Learning (from really big players in the field). The closeness to GSV Capital also helped me to get some pretty good notions about the venture capital world. On the top of that I also had countless activities sponsored by the company, such as indoor climbing, Soul Cycle, Karting, a day at Six Flags and a weekend in a mansion at Lake Tahoe. The wide range of internal events were essential to strongly expand my network. GSVlabs has a really diverse workspace, I'd say that at least 50% of the interns were international students. The familiar environment made the farewell quite hard. It was definitely an unforgettable summer.

Cons

- Sometimes the amount of work was a little overwhelming; I had to work on weekends a couple times. - The rent is absurd in the Bay Area.
