Pros

Ontic has a deeply meaningful mission—supporting security professionals in protecting people and assets—and that purpose genuinely comes through in the day-to-day work. The leadership team is approachable and values transparency. I've consistently seen a willingness to adapt based on employee feedback, which is rare. The people are smart, kind, and driven.

Cons

As the company scales quickly, growing pains are inevitable. Some processes are still being built or refined, and not every team moves at the same pace. Like many startups, sometimes priorities shift quickly without clear communication.

Pros

Ontic has some of the most passionate and talented people I’ve ever worked with. There’s a shared sense of purpose around building something that truly matters - bringing better technology and experiences to an industry that’s long been underserved. The mission and the community we’ve built along the way make it a place you can feel proud to be part of. Ontic isn’t afraid to take big swings, and that ambition has fueled a lot of our growth. Even when we’ve stretched too far, leadership has been willing to redirect resources and adapt, which shows maturity and awareness as we grow.

Cons

As we transition from a scrappy startup to a more structured scale-up, there are growing pains. We sometimes sign up for more than we should, and the pace of change can be intense. The increasing layers of management mean communication and alignment are more critical than ever - sometimes decisions or strategy shifts aren’t communicated as clearly or consistently as they could be. That can make it hard for teams to stay connected to the “why” behind priorities.
