Pros

The actual talent is some of the best in the industry. From the technical to the customer service, they are all very capable. The kitchen is usually stocked well with snacks. Yearly team building events are typically very fun.

Cons

Work/life balance is extremely skewed. You will be expected to work plenty of evenings and most weekends. This is explained away as the company being in "growth mode," though over the course of 10 years there was very little growth and the hours never got better. There is such a focus on minutia that the big picture constantly falls to the wayside. A constant push that you are a "family," but this is all just an attempt at employee retention. You'll be constantly convinced that you're all friends but then when you're let go, it's done by 3rd tier middle management and you won't hear a word from your "friends" in executive leadership.

Pros

Some solid people there, Vice President of HR seems to actually care about the people there.

Cons

Really went downhill within the last year, management preached that there would be no change with the Canyon Point Acquisition - that was until a mass number of employees lost there job. I wish optimal was back to its prior self, as it really did feel like a place I was proud to work at prior to the acquisition.
