Pros

The CSM team was fun to work with. Wonderful people and personalities and I'm glad that we had bonded together.

Cons

I don't even know where to start because there are too many cons. My first red flag was when my boss quit the week after I started. I was devastated because his leadership was phenomenal but I later found out it was because of his severe dislike for the leadership and the micromanagement as well. He described the company saying, "I feel like we're all on the Looney Toons show here" and that's not far off from what it felt like. My base salary was $78k and my estimated commission was set to give me an overall income of $108k. There was absolutely no way this would be possible with the deals they gave me so that was an absolute lie. As a CSM I was given over 70 schools to be responsible for. This is RIDICULOUS. In my current new job I have less than 15 accounts and this is what most CSMs have and what is considered normal. I rarely knew what each school was doing because there were so many of them. The trainings were terrible because I knew most of my accounts didn't even want to be there. The level of being micromanaged was horrific. Many of my work emails were read and I know this because I'd get an email from Hubspot letting me know that "someone" read my email and it was never the person I sent it to. It was management. My time was micromanaged, and we were each given the task of managing the live chat box. This was the bane of my existence. Any time a client messaged us on there we'd have to stop what we were doing, stop the project we were working on, and tend to the chat box. We didn't have someone who was solely responsible for this. One time I was on chat box duty and I made myself a quick lunch given my shift was 5 hours on the chat box and someone had messaged the chat box and I didn't respond back within 2 minutes and I got a lovely Slack message from management telling me I had to write back right away and couldn't do that again. I was also in the middle of doing 10 other projects because they didn't want to pay for someone to do the chat box full time like they should have. The leadership was horrible. There WAS no leadership. There were no company-wide goals or teamwork. There's no investor funding either. Another red flag. I asked this when I started and I got a snide laugh back telling me it was our CEO's family money. From the CEO himself. And it wasn't the significant amount that it should have been. How can we grow without a decent amount of funding? To be a CEO there needs to be a level of respectful leadership and in my current job (I've worked there for much longer than I ever was at ONEder/Ori) my current CEO is much more respected, kind, and has incredible leadership! And this is normal! I was terminated by the CEO slapping a meeting on my calendar an hour before firing me. Little explanation, no emotion, nothing. No warning, no "you need to work on this, let us help you." Nothing. And I performed all of my job responsibilities that were given to me. Our head of marketing got fired in a very similar way right after I did. A rampant email from our CEO in the middle of the night was sent to him for his termination. So inappropriate and so unprofessional. I still feel terrible for the guy because he had just finished the rebrand and put so much work into it. I will never stand for companies getting away with things like this and treating people this way and thank goodness we have a place like Glassdoor to call them out for it. There's a pattern of lack of leadership, broken promises to the commission, high levels of micromanagement, and so many other things. The one saving grace was the CSM team and the trauma bond we shared. If you're reading this because you're interviewing for Ori... find another place because another company will value you and treat you so much better.

Pros

When I first joined, we faced some challenges, but our leadership team actively sought feedback and made impactful changes that improved not only the culture but also my own emotional well-being. Initiatives like implementing mental health days, company-wide closures during the holidays, and encouraging us to take personal time have made a noticeable difference. Our team is small but diverse, and we genuinely enjoy working together. The collaborative environment fosters both professional growth and meaningful connections, which are key to our shared success. I’m particularly excited about the direction Ori Learning is heading as we continue to grow and refine our impact. As someone who values alignment between work and personal principles, I deeply appreciate being part of a company that practices what it teaches. I’m proud to be here and look forward to contributing to Ori Learning’s bright future.

Cons

The small team allows for diverse responsibilities, fostering growth and adaptability, though it can occasionally be demanding. Rapid growth and evolving processes present exciting challenges, encouraging creative problem-solving and continuous improvement. While resources may be limited, they inspire innovation and collaboration across the team.
