Pros

Used to be very flexible and a good work culture. Pay was decent.

Cons

Orion is really a number of different companies in the industry fused together. As an employee of one of the companies that were brought into the fold, I was excited about Orion's promise as a "remote first" culture and the prospect of more career opportunities at a larger company. That changed quickly. Once the new CEO took over, her first order of business was to throw away remote work. They promised they would take our feedback and compromise to find a solution that worked for everyone involved. They didn't. Instead, they came out with a draconic policy that immediately caused the company employees to revolt. Now, employees are forced into offices even if their team isn't located there. They constantly talk about cost cutting while wasting untold amounts on babysitting, retrofitting offices to fit more employees than they should, etc. Then we have the issue of outsourcing. When the idea was first introduced, it was pitched to employees as a way to "reduce workloads" for existing employees. Unsurprisingly, what they really meant was buy enough time so that they could lay off more workers. I can't possibly recommend the company in its current state. It had a good run.
