Pros

If you're coming out of college with an art degree and can't find other employment, Outward isn't a bad place to refine your skills while making some money. Working at Outward will definitely refine your technical skills and attention to detail. Further, the vast majority of people at Outward--including most of management--are pleasant to work with.

Cons

Well below market wages. Near-constant state of low-level crunch, with extensive unpaid overtime a requirement for any possibility of advancement. Inherently tedious and uncreative nature of work in production Near total ban on using your work in your portfolio Tendency to undervalue the importance of production's accumulated experience and practical knowledge.

Cons

Outward is owned by Williams-Sonoma Pay is minimal amount for exempt employees, and upper management refuses to give people the compensation they deserve although the keep pushing for innovation. They want the highest quality work done as quickly as possible, as cheap as possible. High volume of work with tight deadlines. Very poor communication. Very disorganized. Upper management is far disconnected from Outward. Little room for growth. Promotions aren't worth it.
